‘Telling Our Story’ Creative Writing Workshop Sept 2019

The Leytonstone Festival was kicked off on Sunday 1st September with a mixture of artistic and musical events.
The Twinning Association's Creative Writing Workshop on the first day of the Festival was extremely well facilitated by the multi-talented Jane Grell. We were hoping for 10-15 attendees so it was encouraging that pre-registration was oversubscribed. On the day there were 14 participants. Some were unsure about what they were letting themselves in for however they agreed that the workshop was excellent and hope for a repeat! Here are some comments:
This was an enjoyable event. We had lots of stories about school and childhood memories and others’ works. (H.T.) An interesting and friendly creative group. Encouraging and varied in material. (Pat) Plenty of enthusiasm and talent. (David) Excellent workshop by Jane Grell – well organised, good ideas. (Jean) Wasn’t sure what to expect but thoroughly enjoyed the session. It gave me the confidence to share my experience of growing up in the Caribbean listening to stories and to read my own creations for my niece and nephew age 3 and 5 in the 90’s. Let’s have more of this type of activity. (Joan) |
