Welcome to our Black History Month 2023 celebrations. This year we honoured local SHEroes through a project in partnership with Waltham Forest Council.
We worked with four schools across the borough; Frederick Bremer, Hawkswood School, Buxton School and the Holy Family Catholic School who, as part of this project, were given the opportunity to produce artwork and poetry inspired by our nine SHEroes.
Our SHEroes represent the work and achievements of Black women from the twinned islands (Antigua & Barbuda and Dominica) and Waltham Forest. These trailblazing women have made incredible contributions to not only Waltham Forest but communities near and far.
We hope that you enjoy the fantastic artwork produced by our young artists in their honour.
